It is with much excitement that we launch the very first Annual Readathon at our school. This event will take place on Friday 4 November 2016 and already the children are talking about the day. The purpose is to have some reading-related fun!

There are two aspects to the Readathon:

Firstly, the children may come dressed up as a favourite character from a book and secondly, there is a sponsored reading period on the 4th November at school. The Class 1 children will do a different reading related activity during this period.

The sponsored reading period involves the following:

The children will come home with a sponsor form to request of family, friends and reading enthusiasts to sponsor them a certain amount of money for every page they read during the 30-minute period at school on Friday 4th November 2016. This reading will be monitored by the class teacher who will sign the child’s form confirming the number of pages read. The child will then be requested to collect the money during the course of the following week and hand it in to their class teacher.

Funds raised will go towards further development of our library.

Looking forward to much fun in the process of immersing ourselves in books!

Yours in reading!
