The High School Faculty would like to invite you to attend Class 10’s performance of HECUBA, by Euripides.
There is an evening performance on Thursday 19 September at 7.30pm and a performance for the high school (and others) on Friday 20 September at 10am. These will take place in The Shed. PLEASE NOTE – THERE IS AN AGE RESTRICTION; ONLY CLASS 9’S AND UP MAY ATTEND.
Please see the latest Update for more information regarding the pedagogy behind having this process in Class 10. It is particularly significant to our current times too, as the play deals with women captured as slaves during the Trojan war and the revenge they enact. It asks pertinent questions around violence and justice.
There will also be purposefully empty seats in the audience, honouring those who have lost their lives to violence, and audience members are invited to add messages, notes, names, flowers to these mini altars. We hope to see you there, to share with us another meaningful part of our Waldorf High School curriculum. If you have any further questions, please contact drama teacher, Janis Merand, on 082 690 5240 or janismerand@gmail.com
