I cannot believe that it is only one month to go until race day. 27 November is approaching very quickly and I could not be more excited. I received great news this week! Bradley Weiss, South Africa’s current top ranked Ironman triathlete will be racing with me. Bradley came 17th at Kona, Hawaii in the Ironman World Championship earlier this month, and was the 1st South African across the finish line.
He loves the idea of the CIA Scholarship and wants to show his support for the fundraiser by taking part in the event. It will be a huge highlight for me to be able to say I have raced with him.
Promoting my fundraiser over the last few weeks has been an incredible journey, watching the community come together when asked and showing support in different ways. Although I am training six days a week, doing a double session most days, my enjoyment for the sport has only grown. There is never a day when I do not want to train as I know that this is not only about me, but is about the change this scholarship will bring into the beneficiary’s life.
Doing an endurance racing, the “why” is the most important and I know very clearly what my “why” is.
Thank you to everyone who has already supported and for those who still want to, you can follow the link below:
We are so grateful to Carla for initiating this incredible gift to a child in our community, and to our school. Please support her in whatever way you can – whether it’s a donation or just sharing her story! Thank you, Carla and good luck for November!
